just a quick up date. School is going well. Last friday I hicked out of the mountains with a couple who had a newborn baby with possible sepsis. We hiked out in the late afternoon and were in the dark for the last hour. The couple wanted to wait until morning to hike out, but it would have been to late by then, so we hiked with the lights that we had which were not very good. (an oil lamp and a dim- single led keychain type light!) It was a familiar trail to the couple so they had no trouble. Yesterday afternoon I hiked back in and I will hike over to Emrang today, so I am getting a lot of hiking in!
I'm starting to feel like I can converse quite freely in Palawan altough I still can understand less than half of what people say to me. It will come with time. I miss family and friends alot, but I know that this is where God wants me and the plans that He has for me are exciting. Keep me in your prayers.

Hey Brian!!! I'm glad you hicked out of the mountains; it sounds like fun, but I'm not sure exactly what it is.
