"He buried him"

God is so personal.  We talk about the way that God stooped to form man out of the dust, but as I was reading Deuteronomy I found another story of God's personal connection.

"So Moses the servant of the Lord died here in the land of Moab, according to the word of the Lord.  And He buried him in the valley in the land of Moab, "
Deuteronomy 34:5,6

Imagine God, with a shovel, digging a hole for His faithful servant Moses.  I can imagine the memories of His relationship with moses running through His mind as He remembers the times they have gone through.  All the hours as moses spent in His word before going to the palace.  God remembers the surprise on Moses face at hearing a voice come from the burning bush.  He remembers how Moses offered his live for the rebellious people of Israel.  "We had such good times together. " I can hear him thinking.

What a personal God we serve.  He is such a good friend that I know He will be part of everything in my life, wedding, funeral, graduation, breakfast, lunch and dinner.

That's a cool thought, Brian. Ironically, I didn't catch your last post on how you remembered how to post. So I checked your blog and saw the reference to death and it reminded me of the resurrection. lol. Welcome back.

I always liked that part of the Moses story... Moses was closer to God then all but a handful of people in Earth's history. What an example of how we will relate to Him in heaven!
Oh, and welcome back, Brian! long time no see! :)

hmmm... God digging a grave.
He made us from dirt... and then he digs a hole in the dirt to put the more special piece of dirt He loves to rest.
Brian - you've tweaked my imagination! Thanks for the thought!

What a cool observation. Then Moses was raised by God soon afterwards. Isn't that funny? What does that mean? Intriguing....
